This waiver applies as long as the individual departs the UAE within 14 days from the date the exit permit is issued. However, the fines will be reinstated if they fail to leave within this 14-day period. Importantly, individuals who depart the UAE with an exit permit will not face any future entry bans and can return to the country anytime.

For those who choose to stay in the UAE instead of taking advantage of the amnesty period, it will be necessary to provide official documents from their new sponsor to obtain a fresh residence permit. Failing to provide the required sponsorship paperwork means they will not be eligible for a new permit. It is highly recommended that affected individuals reach out to their immigration service providers to obtain guidance on acquiring an exit permit or submitting the necessary documents for their new sponsor.

This policy update aims to give foreign nationals a clear pathway to either regularize their status in the UAE or leave the country without long-term penalties.
