The UAE freelance license , first introduced in 2020/2021, enables foreign nationals to engage in self-employment and contract with companies across the Emirate.
The updated freelancer license allows skilled professionals with expertise in these newly added fields to work independently in Abu Dhabi.
To apply for the freelancer license, applicants must demonstrate relevant experience or possess academic qualifications in their chosen field or industry. This move is expected to attract more foreign nationals, particularly those with specialized skills and experience, to live and work in the UAE.
