English Language Student to be granted bridging permission

Are you an international student in Ireland, looking to extend your stay? If so, you might be interested in learning about the English Language student stamp 2 bridging permission, which was announced by Ireland’s immigration service starting by the end of October 2023.

As an international student in Ireland, you’re likely familiar with the various immigration stamps that are used to regulate your stay. The most common stamp for English language students is the stamp 2 permission, which allows you to stay in Ireland for up to 8 months.

However, what happens if your language course is coming to an end, but you’re not ready to leave Ireland just yet? This is where the stamp 2 bridging permission comes in. This permission allows you to extend your stay in Ireland.

To apply for the stamp 2 bridging permission, you’ll need to meet certain requirements. First and foremost, you must currently hold a stamp 2 permission for a language course. You must also have completed your course, but not yet been accepted onto another course or program. Finally, you’ll need to have sufficient funds to support yourself during your extended stay.

The application process itself is relatively straightforward. You’ll need to fill out an application form and provide supporting documentation, such as proof of your financial resources. You’ll also need to pay a fee, which is currently €300.

Once your application is submitted, it typically takes around 8 weeks for a decision to be made. If your application is approved, you’ll receive a new immigration stamp that allows you to stay in Ireland for up to 6 months.
